ARTIST CALL: MURAL COMPETITION AT FORD AMPHITHEATER
We’re inviting artists to submit original artwork for a mural that will be featured at the Ford Amphitheater in Colorado Springs. The winning design will be reproduced as a large-scale wall installation and in a prominent location inside the venue serving as a lasting celebration to creativity, music, and the energy of live performance.

$2,500 + mural featured on-site and an unveiling ceremony
THEME:
The energy of live music. The spirit of Colorado. The connection between fans and the stage.
We’re looking for bold, dynamic, and original artwork that captures the feeling of live performance- how it looks, how it moves, and how it connects people. All styles and interpretations are welcome, whether abstract, realistic, graphic, or painterly.
You do not need to be a muralist to enter. Your design will be reproduced as a large-scale wall installation, giving it the presence of a mural without requiring you to paint it yourself. This means artists from any discipline- illustrators, painters, photographers, digital artists, mixed-media creators- are encouraged to submit.
RULES & REQUIREMENTS
DO
- Submit original artwork (no AI-generated or pre-published pieces)
- Design in a square (1:1) format
- Include the following pieces in your submissions
- Your name
- A short artist bio (max 100 words)
- Brief artist statement about your piece including how you created your artwork. (max 150 words)
- Links to your active social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, etc.)
- 2025 Mural Application (download here)
- Incorporate the VENU Arts and Culture Foundation logo into your design (no mandatory size requirements; download here)
- Keep content appropriate for a public, family-friendly space
- Follow the file requirements
DON’T
- Use copyrighted images, logos, or band likenesses
- Add text or branding unless it is integral to the concept
- Submit low-resolution or stretched artwork
FILE REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY
- Format: PDF, JPG, or PNG
- Minimum size: 1500 x 1500 pixels (5″ x 5″ at 300 DPI)
- Maximum file size: 6MB
- Color mode: CMYK
Finalists will be asked to supply high-resolution, print-ready files suitable for large-scale production and will get the opportunity to connect with the VENU Arts and Culture team for official installation.

SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
- A panel of judges will review all entries made up of. representatives from the Ford Amphitheater, VENU, AEG Presents, and the VENU Foundation.
- Finalists will be notified by email and may be asked to provide additional materials or high-resolution files for final review.
- Winners will be notified via email.
